Saturday, 10 October 2026 | Anywhere around Kaapsehoop | Self-guided

Checklist or eBird? The Discover Kaapsehoop Bird Checklist is a field reference to help you know which birds you might encounter. The birds you actually observe on October Big Day should be recorded in eBird.
October Big Day also coincides with Global Bird Weekend and World Migratory Bird Day. Discover Kaapsehoop is encouraging local participation; October Big Day itself is run by eBird (Cornell Lab of Ornithology). For more on birding the mountain, see Birding in Kaapsehoop.
